Twyford is awash with red white and blue to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Dave Cox, from Westgate Electrical Services Ltd, has attached 16 large Union Jack flags to businesses in the town centre to mark the Monarch’s anniversary and they will remain up throughout June.
The flagpole idea came from the Twyford Village Partnership (TVP). Each flag pole was made individually by estate agent Mullie Davies, and the flags were provided by Hare Hatch Sheeplands.
“It looks absolutely stunning,” said Gordon Storey, from the TVP.
“There is also bunting in the majority of the shops so the High Street looks great.”
* On Monday afternoon and evening the Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace will be beamed live into St Mary’s Church. There will also be entertainment from Uncle Charley, the band High Voltage Singers, a barbecue by the 1st Twyford Scouts and a beer tent supported by Ruscombe’s Bingham’s Brewery.
