A Reading man has been jailed after raping a woman while she slept alongside her boyfriend.
Travis Gotting, 20, of Donnington Road, Reading, admitted burglary, rape and sexual assault charges at Reading Crown Court on November 17, 2011.
He was handed an indeterminate sentence on Thursday and will spend a minimum of four years behind bars.
Gotting sexually assaulted a woman, now 21, as she slept in her bedroom, then raped another woman, now 21, as she slept beside her boyfriend during a burglary in Erleigh Road, in Reading on Saturday, July 30.
He also stole a bottle of cider and a pair of sunglasses.
Later he broke into a house in Donnington Road, where he made sexual remarks to two women and stole an iPod, a Samsung mobile and £10.
He was arrested on August 2.
Sentencing Gotting, Judge Stephen John said: “You are unable to explain your motivation for the serious and repeated sexual offending behaviour, your victims being vulnerable and unknown females. You were not deterred by being confronted by your victims when they woke up, going on to commit other offences.”
DC Paul Jacobs said: “This was a truly awful series of crimes, which have had a lasting impact on the victims.
“He will not be released until he can satisfy a parole board that he is no longer a danger to the public.”
