A trip to buy some eggs paid off handsomely for a Hare Hatch couple this week.
Alan and Jenny Vooght became the one millionth customers of Hare Hatch Sheeplands on Saturday and received a £50 shopping voucher.
"Last week we realised that we were getting close to serving our one millionth customer so on Saturday we were ready and waiting to commemorate the occasion," said Rob Scott, a director at Sheeplands.
“We bought some eggs and when we got to the till we noticed a lot of sudden activity,” said Jenny, a part-time receptionist with a Reading firm of solicitors.
“Then someone said ‘will you come with me please’ and we wondered what was going on. We were delighted with the voucher. We don’t normally get much luck with things like raffles so it was a lovely surprise.”
