THERE are several comedians coming to Henley in January, to help people get over the post-Christmas blues.
On Thursday, January 15, Early Doors Comedy Night at the Kenton Theatre features Sara Barron and Jonny Pelham.
As seen on Live at the Apollo, Would I Lie to You? and Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, American comic Sara Barron has brought her shows For Worse, Enemies Closer, Hard Feelings and Anything For You to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, to rave reviews.
Her writing credits include 8 Out of 10 Cats, Hypothetical, Richard Osman’s House of Games and Alan Davies’ As Yet Untitled.
West Yorkshire comedian Jonny Pelham talked openly about his experiences of abuse as a topic on Live at the Apollo, before returning to therapy.
Two years ago, his show Optimism Over Despair at the Edinburgh Fringe covered his regret at oversharing.
Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £20.
Two weeks later, on Thursday, January 29, Honk! Henley returns, with Sarah Roberts, Rosalie Minnitt and other comics to be announced.
Describing herself as “the world’s youngest, smallest, most normal comedian”, Sarah Roberts was shortlisted for the Funny Women Shorts Award. She took her first split bill, Cake, to Edinburgh in 2022, and took her first solo show, Silkworm, there last year.
Rosalie Minnitt took her debut show Clementine to Edinburgh Fringe two years ago. She has sold out multiple runs at Soho Theatre.
Honk! is at the Relais Henley at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm). Tickets cost from £12.62.
