Windsor & Eton forward Fiifi Carter was quick to hail his teammates following his remarkable treble against AFC Winkfield at Stag Meadow over the weekend.
Since joining the club from Brook House last year, Ghanaian-born Carter has swiftly become a beloved figure among fans. His proficiency in penalty-taking and ability to execute formidable free kicks from considerable distances has solidified his reputation as a standout player in Matty Angell’s side.
On Saturday, the talents of the number 10 were on full display for the 305 spectators in attendance. Within just two minutes, he expertly converted a set piece, skilfully dispatched a spot kick on the half-hour mark, and coolly slotted in another goal later to secure Windsor all three points in a 3-1 victory.
Speaking to the Advertiser at full-time, Carter said: “It was my teammates that helped me score the three. We played well as a team. We did everything as a team.
“Yeah, I could have scored more. But I think it was two games in a row where I didn’t score a single one. I was determined to end that run today at home.
“It was also a case of revenge today – we were not expecting them to beat us [earlier in the season].
“I like taking free kicks, especially when they’re at the back of the 18-yard box – that’s a goal for me.
“I love the Windsor fans, they always give me cheers. So, when I score, I love running to them.”
Carter added: “I’ve got the vision of playing football full-time so any time I get the opportunity [in the starting XI], I make sure I do my best.”
In an interview featured on Windsor & Eton’s website, Carter disclosed his past experience of playing alongside Mohammed Kudus, the tricky winger currently playing for West Ham United.
Additionally, Carter shared his aspirations to compete at the highest levels of football and set a personal goal of achieving between 25 to 30 goals for Windsor & Eton this season.
Remarkably, he currently ranks second in the race for the Thames Valley Premier League golden boot with an impressive tally of 12 goals.
