Children and grown-ups alike got their faces painted and met farm-yard animals on Thursday as the ever popular Basil and Crew’s mobile farm visited Herschel Park in Slough.
The Maidenhead-based farm, named after one of their donkey’s, Basil, boasts hundreds of animals including ponies, chickens, donkeys, sheep and goats.
It usually visits Herschel Park three times a year and draws in many new visitors.
As well as getting to meet some furry and feathered friends, children also enjoyed face painting, games and a bouncy castle.
Herschel Park worker Ian Judd, who arranged the event along with volunteers, said: “It’s all to promote the park as a lot of people don’t know about it.
“Most people who end up coming down for the mobile farm never even knew the park existed.”
He added: “It doesn’t cost anything and it gets kids out in the fresh air, which can’t be a bad thing.”
Family-run Basil and Crew is available to visit within a 50-mile radius of its Maidenhead base.
The crew have been visiting parks, fetes and schools since 2001, introducing children to their animals and teaching them how to interact with them.
