A National Grid substation in Iver - the organisation plans a new substation in Iver Heath
In this week’s public notices, there are plans to build new electrical substations in Iver Heath and plans to convert a bar and grill in Iver into flats.
There is also notice of road closures set to take place in Slough in April.
Planning:
An application has been submitted by the National Grid to build new electrical substations in Iver Heath.
Planning documents advise that the development, planned for land north west of an existing substation in Iver, will include six ‘super grid transformers’ and associated works to improve site accessibility.
In the design and access statement, National Grid says the new substations are required to meet increasing demand for electricity.
It also says the development is expected to meet the criteria for ‘very special circumstances’ to be built on greenbelt land.

The plans, lodged on behalf of KSG Property Ltd, include: eight three bed apartments; two one bed apartments; a one bed apartment; and a pair of one bed duplex homes.
This application adds an additional five homes to previous plans for the site, submitted in 2023, by linking two existing buildings on the site together and extending roof space.
A total of 17 parking spaces are planned, one for each home, in addition to 27 spaces for bicycle parking.

The road will be closed between the junction at Langley Road and the junction at Padstow close from 00.01am till 23.59pm, effectively for 24 hours.
