Two men carrying a sword and a sledgehammer robbed a bank in Slough yesterday (Tuesday).
At about 2.50pm, the two masked men entered Natwest bank in Buckingham Avenue.
They attempted to smash a cashier’s screen but were unsuccessful. One of the men then stole cash from a desk which was at the rear of the bank.
The pair left in a vehicle which had been waiting nearby. They are both described as being less than 6ft tall and were wearing dark clothing.
Detective Sergeant Pauline Cameron said: “Thankfully, no one was injured during this robbery which would have been frightening for those involved.
“We know that there were some customers in the bank at the time of the incident and we would encourage anyone who has not yet spoken to police to do so immediately.
“We are also interested in hearing from anyone who saw the men either enter the bank or leave in a vehicle.
“Every piece of information, despite how small it may appear on the surface, could assist with our ongoing investigation.”
