Part of a key A404m junction is set to close next month
This week’s public notices feature a road closure affecting the A404(M) junction in Cox Green, as well as a closure to a footpath in Maidenhead town centre.
A new town centre burger restaurant has also applied to serve alcohol during the day.
Closures
The A404(M) junction 9a in Cox Green is set to be hit by overnight road closures next month.
National Highways has advised the A404(M) southbound slipway will be closed for three weeks from September 23.
The closure will come into force between 8pm and till 5am during this time.
Traffic will be diverted to use the A404(M) Junction 8/9 or Maidenhead Thicket Interchange.
Diversion signs will be placed on approaches to the affected road for the period building up to and during works.
The closure is needed to ensure contractors working on behalf of UK Power Solutions work safely.
The contractors are undertaking electrical works in the area.
A footpath in Maidenhead town centre is set to close next week.
Part of the path between King Street to Stafferton Way will be closed from Monday to Friday (September 13), between the hours of 8am and 4pm.
It will affect the path from its junction with A308 King Street to the vehicle exit at Stafferton Way Multi Story Car Park.
The purpose is to allow high-voltage cable work to take place that could pose a safety risk.
Licensing
A new Chuck and Blade Burgers restaurant in King Street has asked RBWM for permission to serve alcohol.
The business, which is moved into the former Pizza Hut site on Grenfell Island, is applying for a license that will permit it to serve alcohol from 11am until 11pm, seven days a week. If approved, it would come into effect on September 27 next month.
Anyone who wishes to comment on the application should write to the council licensing team at Town Hall offices, or email the team at licensing@rbwm.gov.uk
The deadline is September 25.
