There was a party atmosphere in the town centre on Saturday as celebrations were held to mark 25 years since Anthony Reynolds' fruit stall first came to Maidenhead.
Bubbly was handed out, a magician and stilt-walker entertained shoppers and girl group Rumour Has It, who made it to judges' houses stage of last year's X-Factor, performed.
Helium balloons were released and a cake was also cut to mark the milestone for family business Anthony Reynolds Fruiterers.
An emotional Anthony said he 'wanted to throw something back' to the people that have supported him and his business.
He followed in the footsteps of his dad, Reg, who opened up shop in Frimley as a greengrocer 50 years ago.
Anthony, who is one of seven siblings, was born the following year and the family all lived above the shop, which was called Reynolds and Sons.
"I ended up in Maidenhead 25 years ago," said the father-of-three.
"I love it, I get a buzz from it every day.
"Every day is different, what I buy at market, the weather I'm up against, how well everything is going to go."
During Anthony's speech, the 49-year-old thanked everyone involved including his niece Nicola Humphries, who organised the party.
"Everything is just going to plan," he said.
"It is absolutely perfect, I couldn't wish for more."
Outgoing Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead, Cllr Richard Kellaway, was also present and spoke about how the market moved from King Street to the High Street.
"Maidenhead is getting better and better," he said.
"When you are here with all the other stalls, there is life and vitality."
