WE have been regular walkers along the towpath at Hambleden Lock for more than 50 years and seen occasional flashes of blue but never a clear sighting of a kingfisher.
On Saturday we were just alongside a post near the riverbank and were able to watch this bird catching fish and then twisting its neck as another bird flew over it. Worth the wait. — Yours faithfully,
Hugh Archibald
