A Cookham school has had a ‘remarkable turnaround’ and been judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in the latest inspection.
Holy Trinity Primary School, Cookham, was considered as ‘requiring improvement’ when the last government inspection was carried out two years ago.
However the school has now been awarded the top marks in all categories and has now been deemed ‘outstanding’.
In the nine page report, Ofsted said its pupils were ‘invariably polite and courteous’ and described Holy Trinity as a ‘happy and welcoming place with learning at its centre’.
Dave Rooney, the school’s executive principal and headteacher Anna Smith were praised for bringing ‘rapid and significant improvements since the previous inspection.’
Dave Rooney, executive principal said “I'm extremely proud of the entire team. This report recognises the exemplary work and commitment to providing the highest quality of education for all. The school has a clear vision and ambitious plans for the future. I'm excited at the prospect of getting my head down and working hard with the team to create an even better school- a centre of excellence in the heart of Cookham.”
Yasmin Thorn-Davis, chair of governors said: “Our school sets high standards and ensures maximum impact for all of our pupils to make excellent progress.”
“We would like to thank all our stakeholders, but particularly our marvellous pupils for putting Holy Trinity firmly back on the map.”
