Aerospace and amphibious vehicle manufacturers are among a dozen companies to have chosen Slough as a base for investment in the last four months.

Slough Trading Estate has seen around one new company every ten days sign up for a lease since the turn of the year, according its owners SEGRO.

A statement from the company said a ‘surge of new customers’ had signed contracts worth more than 60,000 square feet of business space at Slough Trading Estate.

One of the new companies to sign a lease at the estate is Seahorse Amphibious Vehicles, which makes amphibious tourist vehicles used in Windsor and Liverpool and exports across the world.

Also signed on is Oshkosh AeroTech, an airport ground support manufacturer and service provider for the passenger travel and defence industries.

Allied Protek Engineering Solutions, another new addition to the estate, is working with Slough-based chocolate manufacturer Mars to deliver a new production line.

Others to have signed leases in Slough include London & Quadrant Housing Trust, one of the UK’s largest housing associations, and plastics and construction distributor Eurocell.

SEGRO unveiled nine revamped industrial units at Slough Trading Estate last month which the company said was to support a ‘strong demand’ for new business space in the town.

SEGRO head of western corridor Anna Bond, said: “This diverse range of new customers highlights Slough Trading Estate’s ongoing evolution as a vibrant and dynamic business destination.

“The variety of companies choosing to establish or expand their operations here reflects the strength and adaptability of the Trading Estate’s offer, the quality of the spaces available and the amenities on your doorstep.”

Slough Trading Estate is Europe’s largest trading estate under single ownership and has operated since the 1920s, with companies like Mars calling it home for most of that time.
