A Maidenhead-based accounting firm has moved into its new office in Queen Street.
Starfish Accounting was originally founded in 2011 by Georgi Rollings, and has been based in Maidenhead ever since.
The company, which was formerly located on Frogmore Farm in Littlewick Green, moved into its new premises last month.
The new office puts the team ‘right in the heart of the town, making it easier to connect with the local business community’ and offer a space for team collaboration and client meetings.
“This move means a lot to us,” founder and co-CEO Georgi, said.
“We’ve been growing and evolving for over a decade, and this is a chance to create a space that reflects who we are today.
“It gives us a fresh start in a central location, while staying close to our roots.”
The company provides accounting, bookkeeping and tax services to business owners who want to grow their businesses sustainably.
Starfish was recently B Corp certified, and places ‘a strong emphasis on ethical practice and long-term support’.
The team’s new third-floor office provides a space for events, private client meetings, team days and focused project work.
While the team works flexibly, a central base allows them to host in-person meetings.
Co-Ceo Emma Lawrence said: “Being in the town centre gives us more visibility and makes it easier for clients to visit when they want to.
“We want people to feel comfortable reaching out for support, and this new space helps us to stay approachable and available.”
The company is also a platinum Xero partner, and was recently shortlisted for Xero’s Small Firm of the Year Award
Xero is an online accounting software for small businesses to obtain financial information and manage their finances.
Georgi added: “We understand that running a business can feel overwhelming at times.
“Our role is to bring structure and support, without making things more complicated than they need to be.”
The move to Maidenhead town centre is also part of ‘a wider commitment to the local area’.
In looking to meet more local business owners, build new partnerships and play a ‘key role’ in the town’s business community, the team will be running free accounting clinics from their new office.
The clinics will offer practical advice and support to business owners, requiring some guidance.
As the business grows, the company is also creating more job opportunities in the area.
“We’re proud to be building a supportive and flexible workplace, and we want to offer meaningful rules that allow people to grow and thrive,” said Emma.
Georgi added: “We’ve always felt at home here.
“Now we’re right in the middle of town, and we’re excited about what that opens up for us and for our clients.”
