In the national Choice Chip Awards 2015 competition, the takeaway in Burnham Lane was named ‘Best Chippy Chips’ in the county.

The family, who nominated themselves, were overwhelmed when they found out they had won.

Owner Sachinder Singh Bal said: “It was such a surprise and the response from customers has been amazing.

“We’d like to thank all our loyal customers for the support and for voting for us.

“We’re so pleased to have won.”

Sachinder runs the restaurant with his younger brother Kulwindeer and his parents Gurdip and Mohinder, who have owned it for 30 years.

Last year they also won the Healthiest Fish and Chip Shop prize from Slough Borough Council.
