Slough men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after crash in Farnham Common

Thames Valley Police is appealing for the rider of an e-scooter who helped the victim of an assault in Farnham Common to come forward.

A road traffic collision occurred on Victoria Road involving a white Vauxhall van with ladders on its roof and a man who was stationary on a bicycle at around 7.10pm on Tuesday, March 10.

The bicycle rider, a man in his forties, sustained a serious head injury which required hospital treatment, and has since been discharged.

A 22-year-old man from Slough was arrested on suspicion of assault, thereby occasioning actual bodily harm, attempted murder, dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road accident, possession of a firearm without a certificate and theft.

A 43-year-old man from Slough was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving and failing to stop after a road accident.

Both have since been released on conditional bail until June 4.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Louise Sharples said: “I am appealing for witnesses following this incident to please come forward.

“There was a person riding an e-scooter on Victoria Road who stopped to help the victim after the collision, and I am specifically appealing for them to contact Thames Valley Police, as they may have vital witness information to assist our enquiries.

“If you were in the Victoria Road area at the time and have dash-cam footage, please check your recording in case it captured anything that could assist our investigation.”
