Weymouth 3, Slough Town 0
After two stellar victories in the National League South, Slough Town were brought back down to Earth with a comprehensive defeat to Weymouth this afternoon.
The Rebels travelled to the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday seeking a third consecutive win to continue an exciting climb up the league table.
But the lowly-placed Terras – managed by the wily Bobby Wilkinson – condemned them to their 10th loss of the season, with goals scored by Alfie Rutherford (43’), Brandon Goodship (70’), and Maidenhead United loanee Harry Parsons (90’).
At full-time, player/manager Scott Davies posted on X: “Beaten by the better side today in what was always going to be a battle. We didn’t stand up to what Weymouth threw at us and they fully deserved their win.
“We’ve been good for a while so panic stations our end, just need to react Tuesday. Apologies to those who travelled.”
Slough Town (13th) travel to the Viridor Stadium on Tuesday (January 16) to face Taunton Town.
