The new Local Area Police (LPA) commander for Wokingham has said he is looking forward to working with and for the people of the borough.
Chief Inspector Robert France took on the role on Monday (January 14). He replaces Ch Insp Christian Bunt, who has been promoted to superintendent LPA commander for Oxford city. The new Ch Insp was previously a CID Detective Inspector for West Oxfordshire.
He said: "It is with great enthusiasm that I step into this new role, and am looking forward to working with and for the people of Wokingham.
"I am taking over an LPA which has a strong team of officers and staff, who have been working hard to deliver a high quality of service to the communities of Wokingham."
He said that during the past 12 months burglary had decreased 28 per cent, offences of violence on people had fallen 9.7 per cent and anti social behaviour was also down by 32 per cent.
He added: "There are particularly strong partnerships in place in Wokingham, and I am looking forward to working with partners to make Wokingham an even safer place to live, work and visit."
