Chris Flood will stay at York Road for another month.

Loan duo Chris Flood and Jessie Joronen have agreed to extend their stay at York Road for another month.

Winger Flood, who joined from Eastleigh, has impressed boss Johnson Hippolyte since arriving with some strong performances out wide.

And Fulham goalkeeper Jessie Joronen has also been in fine form between the sticks during his brief time with United and Hippolyte is delighted that they both be available to him for at least another four weeks.

He said: “They have both agreed to stay for another month which is good news.

“Chris has done well since he’s come in. He’s enjoying himself and if he’s not going to be starting at Eastleigh then it makes sense that he stays here.

“We’re very happy with him, we think he gives us good balance and results have picked up since he’s been around the team.

“He’s with us for another month and that will include the busy Christmas period which is good as there is a lot of football coming up.”

The Magpies boss added: “The same goes for Jessie, he’s staying which is a real bonus.

“He’s an excellent keeper and has done really well so he will remain here and fight with Billy for the number one spot.

“Both he and Chris add something to what we’ve got and we need to have healthy competition here because we don’t have the biggest squad.”

Flood and Joronen are both available for Saturday’s home game with league leaders Salisbury City at York Road.
