Organisers of the Gravity Grand Prix have said the event on Sunday will go ahead 'come rain or shine'.
They have said the fundraiser is geared to survive any repeat of the torrential rain that put a dampener on the August Bank Holiday Monday.
Brave participants in homemade vehicles will race down a 700-metre course down Church Road, past the Jolly Farmer to finish uphill from Uncle Toms Cabin in Hills Lane.
"Competitors for the 2014 race are coming from as far afield as Norfolk and we will race in any conditions” said organising committee member Peter Austen.
"All our infrastructure will be in place and the relevant parts of Church Road and Hills Lane in Cookham Dean will be closed as planned."
Entry is free. There will also be entertainment centred around the Old Cricket Common and the village hall.
Call Peter on 01628 482201 or visit cookham.com for details.
