An extension to Slough Crematorium was officially unveiled by the Mayor of Slough yesterday.
Cllr Shafiq Chaudhry opened the small extension, which provides 500 plots for families to bury their loved ones.
The extension uses an existing piece of land in the cemetery boundary, in Stoke Road.
A Slough Borough Council (SBC) spokesman said: "This new section adds to the choice of residents of Slough, and surrounding areas, as to where they, and their families, may wish to be buried."
The mayor was joined by crematorium staff and fellow councillors as a new bench donated by SBC was also unveiled.
