A 20-year-old man has admitted to the rape of a boy aged under 16.
James Bright, of Strathy Close, Reading, pleaded guilty to the charge on the first day of his trial at Reading Crown Court on Monday, June 9.
At about 7pm on January 9, 2013, Bright asked a 13-year-old boy into an alleyway off Alphington Road, where he raped him.
Bright was arrested later that day and was charged on August 2, 2013.
Investigating officer, DC Pauline Cameron, from Reading Force CID, said: “This was a horrendous crime inflicted on a vulnerable young boy.
“I am glad the case is now over and the family can start to concentrate on rebuilding their lives.”
Bright is due to be sentenced on August 22.
