Barefoot Pink Moscato Christmas Trifle
This cheerful and charming classic Christmas dessert is the perfect indulgent post dinner treat for friends and family whatever the festive occasion and is guaranteed to put the merry into Christmas.
Made with Barefoot Wine's sweet and fruity Barefoot Pink Moscato, it is the ideal ingredient for a truly traditional dessert that blends jelly, sponge, whipped cream, fresh strawberries and almonds to pack the ultimate flavour punch.
Ingredients:
300g Madeira or sponge cake, halved and cut into thick slices
300g fresh strawberries, frozen are fine but defrost thoroughly
1 pack of strawberry jelly
1 cup of Barefoot Pink Moscato
500ml ready-made, thick custard
500ml double or whipping cream, softly whipped
Handful, toasted, flaked almonds
Method:
The trifle can be made in one large glass dish or in individual glasses.
Line the bottom of the dish or glasses with the cake slices.
Pour over the Barefoot Pink Moscato.
Make the jelly as per packet instructions and pour liquid add to dish/glasses and leave in fridge to set.
Top with sliced strawberries.
Spoon over the custard, in a thick layer.
Finish with a thick layer of whipped cream.
Decorate with strawberry slices and a few toasted, flaked, almonds.
Barefoot Bubbly Festive Fizz Cocktail
Ingredients:
100ml Barefoot Bubbly Pink Moscato
100ml Pink Grapefruit Juice
Sliced Strawberry (optional)
Method:
Fill half a champagne flute (about 3 oz.) with Barefoot Bubbly Pink Moscato, top off with pink grapefruit juice (about 3 oz.) and gently stir.
Garnish with a sliced strawberry for added fun!
Barefoot Mull-licious Red Wine
Ingredients:
1/2 bottle of Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon
1 star anise
1 orange sliced into wedges spiked with cloves
3 tbsp. clear honey
1 cinnamon stick, 30g brown sugar
Freshly grated nutmeg and cherry to garnish
Method:
Place all of the ingredients into a saucepan and simmer gently for 10 minutes, without boiling.
Strain into heatproof glasses or mugs and finish with a little freshly grated nutmeg.
