Following the signing of two forwards last week, Slough Jets head coach Slava Koulikov has announced his first defensive capture ahead of the 2013/14 season.
Mindaugas Kieras has put pen to paper and will return for his third successive season at the Hangar.
The powerful Lithuanian arrived at the Jets in 2011/12 and has established himself as a fans favourite.
Kieras plays well at both ends of the ice, rarely beaten in defence and his 86 points in 114 appearances show he plays a vital offensive role for the team as well.
Speaking about his return, he said: “I have really enjoyed playing for the Jets over the last two seasons and I think we have to challenge for some silverware this year again.
I am happy to be returning to the Jets. I will give everything I can to make this season successful for the club.”
Koulikov added: “Mindy had a great year last year with Slough Jets and finished up as the top defenceman in the league.
“He is the ultimate professional on and off the ice, he gives you 110 per cent every game and he has been a pleasure to work with throughout last season.
“He’s a real team guy, if he can play he will play and proved that last year playing through injury for the team on more than one occasion.
“I had absolutely no hesitation in bringing him back and hope he has another good year.”
Kieras’ capture adds to the signings of Michael Wales and Ryan Watt which were announced last week.
