Coverage of plans behind the UK's first amphibious house to be built on the banks of the river near Marlow will be shown on The Culture Show on BBC Two tonight.
The house, which has been special designed by BACA Architects to float when water levels rise, will provide a home for a couple on an exclusive island location along the Thames.
Instead of defending against floods, the house will rise up to allow excess water underneath the building and will have a three-tiered garden designed to act as an 'alert-system'.
The building will be able to rise up to a maximum of 2.5 metres and is the first house of its kind in the UK.
"It is very, very exciting," said Richard Coutts, one of the architects behind the amphibious house design which will be 225 sq m and situated 10 metres from the river's edge.
He added: "The programme will also be looking at a similar property in Holland and it will show an animation of how the house will work."
The building project, which BACA hopes will begin in six weeks' time, has also received interest from Channel 4's Grand Designs.
Tune into The Culture Show tonight at 10pm.
