Plans to demolish the redundant storeroom of the old Sonning Fire Station to create space for two new homes have been submitted.
The proposals include the demolition of the store and levelling and in-filling of an old air raid shelter.
The application is to convert and extend the fire station building in Pound Lane and create one three-bed home and one four-bed home, with garages.
There would also be a new vehicle access.
The application is set to be determined by Monday, March 25.
A century of firefighting history in Sonning came to an end in the village in January 2008 when the fire station was taken out of active service. Formed on July 18, 1905, the village brigade has had a colourful history.
*Planning permission was last year given to Mascott Ltd to partially demolish the village landmark and create a three-bed and four-bed property on the site.
