The u15s team defeated Park House 50-14

--

Claires Court School triumphed in their respective Berkshire Rugby Cup finals this month, with both securing impressive victories.

Both teams were able to showcase their skill and power, cementing their status as one of the powerhouse schools on the local rugby scene.

At u14s level, Claires Court earned a hard-fought but fully deserved 27-14 win over Oratory School.

They dominated the first half to build a commanding lead and, although Oratory ate into that lead in the second period, they were always in control.

Exceptional teamwork, and a good work ethic was backed up by some precise and clinical attacking play which knocked Oratory out of their rhythm.

A resurgent Oratory mounted an admirable comeback in the second half, but Claires Court were able to hold them off with skill and determination - and a late try secured them a well-earned win and the u14s trophy.

The u15s Claires Court side enjoyed a more convincing 50-14 victory over Park House, with the favourites claiming an expected win after a competitive first half battle.

Claires Court dominated possession and territory in the opening half, but they were unable to shake off the stubborn resistance of Park House.

The difference came in part from an outstanding individual display from Tom Hickson who scored five tries to ease Claires Court away from their opponents.

Director of sport, Simon Carter, said: “His power and pace broke through Park House’s defence repeatedly, inspiring his team to an emphatic 50-14 victory.

“The Claires Court U15 side’s dominance in the second half left no doubt about their superiority, as they added the second piece of silverware to the school’s collection.

“These victories reflect the strength and depth of Claires Court’s rugby program, with both teams showcasing remarkable talent and hard work from the teachers, players, and supporters celebrated a memorable day that highlighted the school’s commitment to rugby excellence.

“With these victories, Claires Court has further solidified its reputation as a formidable force in Berkshire rugby, setting a high standard for future competitions.”
