Maidenhead United vs Gateshead

Maidenhead United will go in search of a first win in eight matches when they host Gateshead at York Road tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, November 23, 3pm kick-off).

Manager Alan Devonshire admits they’ve stumbled into another ‘rough patch’ in the league after digging themselves out of trouble following a disappointing start to the season.

Eight games without defeat in all competitions had lifted the Magpies out of the dreaded bottom four, but league defeats to Yeovil Town, Forest Green Rovers and Sutton United have seem them slip back into the relegation zone ahead of the visit of Gateshead this weekend.

Getting themselves out of their present malaise will be easier said than done though against a Gateshead team currently sitting fifth in the National League table.

Devonshire has said he’s looking for more of the work-ethic and intensity that have made his Maidenhead teams so difficult to beat over the years.

The Magpies managed to beat Gateshead 2-1 at the back end of last season but prior to that the Heed had won all bar one of their previous National League encounters.

Gateshead are gunning for promotion once again and have been buoyed by news that the issues which denied them a chance of competing in the play-offs last season have been resolved with the local authority and the EFL.

They currently sit 5th in the National League behind Oldham Athletic on goal difference, while United will be looking for a win to escape the relegation zone providing results go their way elsewhere.

The fixture won’t be segregated, and tickets can be purchased online or on the day with cash or card accepted. Ticket prices are as follows: Adults: £20; Concessions (Over 65 years old, Student, UB40): £15; Next Generation (17-22 years old): £10; Under 17's: £5.

Slough Town vs Welling United

At Arbour Park, Slough Town are hosting Welling United in the National League South looking to maintain their position in the play-offs.

The Rebels will use the game to pay tribute to their record appearance holder Terry Reardon.

The former player and manager passed away in the summer at the age of 79 and his wife, Julie, and children Miles, Claire and Joanna have been invited to Arbour Park to celebrate his life with the club on what would have been his 80th birthday.

Slough are currently seventh in the table on goal difference and will be looking to maintain their fine home form at Arbour Park against a Welling side that sits 20th in the table. The Rebels have lost just one of their last 34 games in all competitions at home.

Swindon Supermarine vs Marlow

Marlow moved off the bottom of the Southern League Premier South table with Saturday’s 3-2 home win over Wimborne Town and will be looking to build on that performance at Swindon Supermarine on Saturday.

The Blues are still six points from safety in the division – having been promoted via the play-offs last season – however, they’ve won two of their last four in the league and have two thirds of the season remaining to dig themselves out of trouble.

They’ll kick off at Swindon Supermarine at 3pm.

Flackwell Heath vs Berkhamsted

Flackwell Heath could move up to second in the Southern League Central Division table if they manage to defeat Berkhamsted on Saturday – and results elsewhere go their way.

The Heathens are back up to fourth in the table – and within touching distance of leaders Real Bedford – after three straight wins in the league, the latest of them coming at home to Thame United on Tuesday evening.

The Heath are back at Wilks Park at the weekend for a potentially decisive clash against third placed Berko.

Wiktor Makowski netted his 20th of the season in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Thame United and will be gunning for further goals against this weekend’s visitors.

The game kicks off at 3pm and tickets will be available on the turnstile.

Holyport vs Egham Town

Both of our local Combined Counties Premier Division North representatives are also at home this Saturday, with Holyport set to host second placed Egham Town and Burnham at home to Wallingford & Crowmarsh.

Adam Hopkins’ Port side could move to within five points of Egham – one of the promotion favourites this season – if they could pull off a victory at Summerleaze Park.

Port cemented their grip on one of the five play-off spots with a resounding 4-1 victory over Wembley at home on Tuesday evening and will be looking to maintain their fine home form with a similar display against Egham.

Tickets will be available on the gate for this 3pm kick-off.

Burnham vs Wallingford & Crowmarsh

Burnham meanwhile saw their challenge for a play-off finish falter at Risborough Rangers, with the Blues suffering their first defeat under Mo and Omz Bakali’s tenure.

They’ll be hoping to bounce straight back at home to Wallingford & Crowmarsh on Saturday, the team just beneath them in the table. Both teams are level on 21 points but the Blues have played three fewer matches for their haul.

The match at the 1878 Stadium will kick off from 3pm. Tickets available on the turnstile.

Windsor & Eton vs Yateley United

Windsor & Eton have been deposed as leaders in Combined Counties League 1, but will be looking to re-take the summit when they host fifth-placed Yateley United on Saturday.

The Royalists have six games in hand on new leaders Westside but are no longer in pole position following Westside’s 5-1 victory over PFC Victoria London on Tuesday.

After winning 19 straight matches in all competitions, Matty Angell’s side have managed one win from their last four matches – a resounding FA Vase victory over higher level Hilltop.

Their winning run was ended by Eversley & California in the league (3-2) while they’ve also been knocked out of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup by Aylesbury United (2-1) and been held away by Belstone (2-2).

No need for to panic, but a restorative league win over Yateley would be very much welcomed. They kick off at Stag Meadow at 3pm. Tickets available on the turnstile.

Windsor vs Chalfont St Peter

Struggling Windsor FC are also in league action at home to Chalfont St Peter this evening (Friday, November 22, 7.45pm kick-off).

A run of five defeats in the league has seen The Jacks slip to 19th in the table – just above the relegation zone – ahead of this encounter with 18th placed Chalfont.

Tickets available on the turnstile.
