The Golden Eagles u15s scored four second half goals without answer as they came from 4-2 down to defeat Maidenhead United Juniors Bullets 6-5 in the Wycombe and South Bucks Minor Football League this weekend.
Maidenhead led 4-2 after a closely contested first half, but the Eagles took flight in the second period scoring four straight goals. The Bullets hit back to narrow the gap but couldn’t find an all-important equaliser in the final few minutes.
Gabriel Shekiluwa-Cardoso inflicted much of the pain on Maidenhead, scoring five of the Eagles’ goals with their other coming from Wali Jafri.
In the u12s division of the Thames Valley Football Development League, Sandgate Reds continued their fine form with a thumping 5-0 away win over Maidenhead Warriors. In the league’s other games, Datchet defeated Holyport FC 6-2 and Berks Elite beat Townmead Youth Whites 3-1.
Maidenhead Boys & Girls FC teams were also in competitive action over the weekend, with the u18s Colts losing 5-1 at home to Hawley Youth Raiders in EBFA Division 3.
The u16s Dolphins were 2-0 winners away at Maidenhead United Juniors Blacks in Division 2 while the u16s Barracudas were also victorious, defeating AFC Henley Hotspur 4-1 at home in Division 5. Also, at u16s level the Stingrays were beaten 4-2 away by Windlesham United Youth Jets in Division 7.
Both club’s u14s teams were beaten this weekend, with the Scorpions losing 9-1 at home to the Goring Robins Reds in Division 4 and the Wolverines losing 5-2 at home to Reading Tigers in Division 9.
The u13s Missiles enjoyed an impressive 10-0 win over FC Bracknell Royals at home, while the u13s Bullets were held to a 2-2 draw by Winnersh Rangers Turbos.
The u12s Raptors were the only side in their age group to play but went down to a 7-2 defeat to Whiteknights Royals in Division 3.
The u14s Girls Sharks drew 2-2 away to Sandhurst Warriors in Division 3 of the BCGFL while the u15s girls Mustangs were in clinical form as they defeated Slough Town 8-4 away in Division 1.
