Thousands enjoy activities and see iconic vehicles at Maidenhead Comic Con

Iconic vehicles and plenty of free activities kept thousands of people entertained at Maidenhead Comic Con on Sunday.

The event, hosted by Bolt Events, returned to the Braywick Leisure Centre and featured a vibrant mix of community spirit, pop culture and family-friendly fun.

An array of fan-favourite vehicles from the Trotters van from Only Fools and Horses to the Jurassic Park jeep, NYPD patrol car, the Bumblebee Mater and Lightning McQueen drew in crowds of people, eager to take photos.

There were free activities to for all ages, including lifelike dinosaur encounters, face painting, a green screen experience and a retro gaming zone.

Families enjoyed cosplay competitions for adults and youngsters, showcasing creativity and character portrayals.

The day, which attracted 1,400 visitors, concluded with an energetic dance-off between the public and the cosplayers.

Guests were also treated to special appearances throughout the day from an array of well-known figures including Optimus Prime, Lara Croft, Barricade, The Flash, Supergirl, and Jasmine.

Director Zoe Crofts, said: “We had an amazing day in Maidenhead – it never fails to amaze me how much support this event receives, from familiar faces to brand new visitors.

“The atmosphere was incredible, and we can’t wait to be back on [October 5].”
