Maidenhead experienced its hottest day of the year this week.
The second heatwave of the year brought oaring temperatures of 33.2 degrees Celsius in Maidenhead on Tuesday.
This is the highest temperature the town has experienced since August 2022.
On Monday, temperatures reached 32.6 degrees Celsius at Boyn Hill.
This was the highest June temperature locally since June 29, 2019, Dr Roger Brugge, a retired, Maidenhead-based meteorologist revealed.
A temperature of 33.7 degrees Celsius was also recorded in Hurley on June 27, 1976, when a heatwave hit the area.
The heatwave saw a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius recorded each day from June 25 to July 8, 1976.
Maidenhead residents experienced a tropical night on Monday, when air temperatures remained above 20 degrees Celsius.
The temperatures fell no lower than 20.6 degrees Celsius.
This was the warmest night locally since August 11 and 12, 2020, Dr Brugge added.
It was the fourth warmest night since the record began at Boyn Hill in 1988.
There were also warmer nights in 1995 and 2016.
Overall, this June has equalled June 2023 in being the warmest locally since local temperature records started in 1953 at Hurley.
The month was 2.7 degrees Celsius warmer than average, with an average air temperature of 19.2 degrees Celsius.
