Stoke Green Cricket Club has launched a JustGiving fundraising page to supply hard-working staff at Wexham Park Hospital with food and drink during their short breaks.
The club has so far raised £1,280 towards its target of £1,500 and the first delivery of food and drink has been successfully made to the hospital.
They reached £1,000 in donations in just 48 hours.
A message on the fundraising site read: “We are going through unprecedented times and our NHS is struggling to cope under extreme pressures.
“We have had several conversations with Wexham Park Hospital on how the club can help and support them.
“The suggestion from liaising with them is that we make a contribution in the form of drinks and snacks for staff.
“The staff are really struggling to cope and are often doing long shifts without breaks. If they do get breaks, they are kept short, so snacks would be ideal to keep them going at this difficult time.
“Any donations towards this would be greatly appreciated, if we raise enough money, we would like to do several runs in the weeks ahead.
“Any excess cash will be donated to the hospital.”
