There was a new face in charge when pupils went back to school last week.
Amanda Featherstone, previously the head of a school in London, is the new headteacher at Holyport Primary School in Stroud Farm Road. She replaces acting head Helen Cobb, who is now deputy head.
The Maidenhead resident has big plans for the school this term, including increasing student engagement.
She said: “The first week has gone really well; all the staff are very passionate and the students are so positive.
“Students will be looking at a United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which will develop the pupil voice and encourage an active school council.”
This term’s events include a ‘no pen day’ and 100th anniversary celebrations marking the birth of author Roald Dahl.
