Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH AC) athlete Demari Gumbs helped Great Britain's juniors put down a world leading u20s time at the Mannheim International this week.
Competing in the men's 4x400m team, Gumbs ran the third leg as the British team pipped the Germans by 0.11seconds to win in a world leading u20s time of 3.07.15.
The GB team - featuring Stanley Chevous (Lee Bowker, Ipswich), Sam Lunt (Wirral), Demari Gumbs (Windsor Slough Eton and Hounslow) and Alex Houchin (Stewart Marshall, Worcester) - excelled at the international event in Germany, delivering one of the performances of the competition.
Their victory in a time of 3.07.15 puts them in a strong position ahead of the World Athletics u20s Championships taking place in Lima, Peru, in August.
Overall, it was a successful weekend for Great Britain and Northern Ireland's juniors with several athletes securing lifetime bests.
The women’s 4x400m relay team were also in impressive form as they went third in the world U20 rankings, clocking a time of 3:33.78 which was also a meeting record.
