One lucky Scout from Ascot attended a private coronation screening at Westminster Abbey over the coronation weekend.
Oscar Virr, from 1st Sunningdale Scout group, attended at St Margaret’s Church as part of a select group.

He was one of 50 Scouts who were specifically selected to attend in order to represent half a million Scouts around the UK.
They were invited to thank them for supporting the running of the coronation.
Scouts assisted with a number of events, including crowd stewarding, supporting the public, route lining and providing first aid services.
The Scouts were also responsible for managing the crowds in St James Park, Hyde Park, Green Park and the Admiralty Arch.
After the coronation, Scouts greeted King Charles III to wish him a long happy reign – and ran into pop star Katy Perry.

‘’I was able to be a part of history,” Oscar said. “I feel incredibly lucky to be one of the few people who attended the private screening of the coronation service.
“This would not have been possible without Scouts. Being a part of the Scout community continues to open amazing doors for me – which I am forever grateful for.”
