Dog lovers prepare for Windsor Championship Dog Show

Dog lovers will converge on Home Park at Windsor this weekend as more than 9,000 canines compete for a chance to go to Crufts.

Windsor Championship Dog Show starts on Thursday and will run until Sunday.

More than 160 breeds will be judged by 120 Championship show judges, leading up to the gundog group and the best in show finale on Sunday.

The show recently won the first ever 'Pawscars Award’ as championship show of the year, beating 27 others.

Secretary Irene Terry said: “It was a very proud moment for me to accept on behalf of the Windsor Committee the Pawscars trophy. Windsor is fortunate to have one of the loveliest settings in the UK."

Admission is free for all visitors this year. There will also be a hospitality tent or creche for dogs, operated by the Rottweiler Welfare Charity as no animals are allowed to be left in vehicles.
