Burnham Library welcomes spooky school children

A collection of fiendish and frightening visitors to Burnham Library enjoyed activities as part of their spooky school holidays.

Emilia Sugrue, four, James Sugrue, eight, and Bethany Sugrue, 10 read up on some bewitching stories.

Children came dressed as all manner of devilish and diabolical creatures yesterday to celebrate ahead of the scariest night of the year.

They sampled some of the library's creepy books, made board games with a Halloween twist and enjoyed a party on the eve of All Hallows Eve, complete with a selection of ghoulish snacks and treats.

The library hosts activities for youngsters throughout the week including reading groups, story time for under fives and music for babies and toddlers.

Call 01494 475590 for information.

Elinor Casey, nine and Samuel Casey, six in frightening fancy dress.
