Part of a national cycle route that runs through Dorney Lake re-opened to the public this week after months of delays.
The section of the Sustrans' Thames Valley cycle route, which runs from London to Fishguard in Wales, was closed a year ago for the Olympic Games and was due to open again by December.
However, poor weather halted work to repair damage caused by contractors, which made the surface unsafe for cyclists.
Work has now finished on a new top coat for the 2.1km stretch of cycle path.
Ivor Lloyd, managing director of Dorney Lake said: "It should have been opened by the first of December.
"As you can imagine we've been very frustrated, but it's better to be frustrated than unsafe.
"Everyone using the site is a guest of Dorney Lake Trust.
"We have a duty of care and we wouldn't want to risk anyone's safety."
