Reece ready to get back to his best says Maidenhead United FC boss
Reece Tison-Lascaris has been backed by boss Johnson Hippolyte.

Reece Tison-Lascaris is ready to return to his best form according to Magpies boss Johnson Hippolyte.

The young United attacker has been struggling in recent months and has lost his spot in the starting XI.

But he came off the bench at the weekend to score a thrilling injury-time winner against Billericay and Hippolyte expects the forward to have a strong end to the season.

“I had a long chat with Reece on Saturday morning in my car before the game,” he said.

“He understands he’s been underperforming lately but there have been circumstances involved with that.

“Reece has had a death in the family, someone he was quite close to and he’s also been struggling with some sort of bug.

“I think those things have certainly had something to do with his performances because they haven’t been what we would expect since Christmas.”

The Maidenhead United boss added:“But now he thinks he’s over those problems, his head is back in the right place.

“Reece is a great lad and he’s still very young, he’s another one who we plucked from nowhere.

“So it was lovely to see him come off the bench and score a goal like that.

“I’m really happy for the lad and he will have a big part to play during the next few months.”

Tison-Lascaris’ last gasp winner at the weekend has moved the Magpies up to 12th in the Blue Square South, two points clear of the drop zone.

The game against Billericay was the first of three successive league matches against sides below them in the table.

On Saturday, Maidenhead visit AFC Hornchurch before they host Basingstoke Town the following weekend.

“It’s a very important February for us,” said Hippolyte. “When you’re playing teams around or below you, you have to try and pick up points.

“It’s important to win your home games and then go away and get at least a draw.

“We ticked the first box against Billericay on Saturday, now it’s Hornchurch.

“It will be a similar game to what we faced last weekend. They are big and direct so we will need to be strong over there.”
