Clock-mad volunteers are restoring the former Marlow town hall timepiece which dates back more than 200 years.
Sarah Dove, owner of The Assembly Room restaurant which is upstairs in the building in Marlow High Street, is restoring the clock along with Marlow town councillor Roy Cadman.
The pair embarked on the restoration project after the clock was discovered in pieces in the Marlow Cemetery Chapel cellar in Wethered Road.
"It was like a Meccano set and we had to work out how to put it together," said Sarah who requested permission to repair the clock from the Marlow Town Council, which owns it.
Sarah lives in a flat within the town hall with her husband Neal and three children.
Roy, who lives in Glade Road and has past experience of clock restoration, hopes it will be in full working order in time for its 205th birthday on April 3.
This will include getting the clock's pendulum, which is 89 inches long, moving again.
The clock was given to the town by MP Pascoe Grenfell early in the 19th century. It has since been replaced with an electrical mechanism.
The clock is on display in the foyer of The Assembly Room where it will remain when back in working order.
