The American outdoor ware company Timberland has announced the closure of 12 stores across the UK including one in Windsor.
They said the ‘difficult decision’ comes after 73 Retail has filed for Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVA) last November due to tough market conditions.
The stores will continue to trade under a new business entity, while 73 Retail will eventually go into administration.
News the shop will be closing comes after Lakeland in Windsor Yards shut its doors on Saturday, January 18.
In a statement sent to the Express, a Timberland spokeswoman said: “Timberland remains committed and will continue to invest in the UK market, as the opening of the new flagship store in Carnaby St, London, last November has demonstrated.
“Other stores across the country will be refitted following the company’s new brand purpose of providing more sustainable products and greener retail environments.”
Timberland will continue to trade in the UK through its website www.timberland.co.uk and the 25 stores across the country.
