David Laird
A school is set to welcome a new headteacher at the beginning of the summer term.
David Laird said he will be ‘relentless in the pursuit of seeking out and providing outstanding opportunities’ for the pupils of Long Close School.
He will be replacing the current headteacher Kamaldeep Nijjar who will be departing at the end of the summer term.
Mr Laird said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to the position of headteacher at Long Close School.
“As an experienced headteacher, I am committed to ensuring the very best outcomes for children, both personally, socially, and academically.
“As a parent, I also understand that the greatest asset that we can give to our children is the gift of education…This is why parents have chosen Long Close School.
“It is for this reason that I will be relentless in the pursuit of seeking out and providing outstanding opportunities for our students.”
The school will be holding its next open morning on Saturday, May 13 at 10am for prospective parents to visit the school and meet Mr Laird and the teaching staff.
