Applications for artists to join the Cookham and Maidenhead Arts Trail are now open.
The event will take place on September 9 and 10 with applications closing at the end of March.
The Cookham and Maidenhead Arts Trail (CAMAT) will be coming back this year following a short break in 2022.
The trail features artists from around the area opening their homes, studios or gathering in various village halls to display their artwork and meet with the many people coming to enjoy the trail.
CAMAT is now looking for new artists to join the trail; applications will remain open until the end of March and there is no limit on the number of artists that can participate in the showcase.
Jill Chadwick, chair of the trail, said: “This year I thought it might be good to advertise the fact that we’re taking applications now to see if there are any artists that perhaps don’t know about us that want to join us for the arts trail. And we’ve got to get some new fresh blood into the equation to offer customers something new and different and encourage budding artists.”
“There is a whole variety of different art forms.
“Anything from sculptures, paintings in different mediums, ceramics, glass –all sorts of variety of artists from the local area. It’s all run on a voluntary basis, so we have a little committee of volunteers who pull it all together.”
Jill herself is a glass artist with over 30 years of experience.
She added: “We all love meeting customers and chatting about our work and explaining the meaning behind things, or the process of creating it or whatever it might be, so people enjoy that personal relationship with the artist.
“It makes a difference, when you’ve got something hung on your wall, that you’ve met the artist. It means a lot more to you than just buying a painting that you don’t know anything about it.”
The arts trail will take place on the weekend of Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September.
Although the trail is free for the public, artists wishing to participate have a £35 entrance fee plus any venue costs.
