The Maidenhead Half Marathon is set to make a comeback this October following a four-year break and people are being encouraged to take up the challenge.
Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service is calling on people to sign up, make a difference and raise money for charity.
The children’s hospice in Snowball Hill is organiser RunThrough’s Charity of the Year for both the 2025 and 2026 races.
Alexander Devine provides specialist care and vital support to babies, children and young people with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions and their families across Berkshire, South Bucks and the surrounding counties.
The half marathon will take runners on a scenic, two-lap route, starting from The Moor in Maidenhead Town Centre on Sunday, October 26.
Each pound raised will go towards providing creative therapies, respite care, end-of-life support and services for families.
Runners will receive a free Alexander Devine technical running t-shirt, free parking, chip-timed results, fundraising stewardship with an experienced Alexander Devine fundraiser, official event photographs and post-race refreshments.
The event is open to runners of all abilities and there will be a three-hour cut off time due to the road closures that will be in place.
Fiona Devine, founder and CEO at Alexander Devine, said: “We are delighted to see the return of the Maidenhead Half Marathon.
“If the London Marathon has inspired you then this is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself and take part in an exciting local event and support our incredible cause.
“Your participation can make a difference in the lives of children and families facing the unimaginable.”
