Pupils at a primary school in Maidenhead created age-old coil pots as they covered the history of Ancient Greece last week.
A total of 60 year four students took part in the Ancient Coil Pots workshop at Oldfield Primary School in Bray Road on Thursday, October 24 as part of an Ancient Greece themed day.
Led by Helen Evans, the youngsters learnt about the art of making coil pots and created their own Greek pots, which they decorated taking inspiration from Ancient Greece.
The pots will be fired and returned to the school.
David Toynton, Key Stage Two joint phase lead at Oldfield Primary School, said: “It was fantastic to see the children enjoy such a practical and interactive day, rounding up their learning in history and literacy from the last eight weeks.
“The activities brought the topic to life for the children, even if they meant a bit of extra tidying for the staff.”
The workshop was supplied by the Farm Out programme at Norden Farm, funded by the Spoore, Merry and Rixman Foundation.
As part of the themed day, youngsters also participated in a range of other activities, organised separately from Norden Farm.
Pupils created laurel wreaths from card and paper leaves, decorated with an array of media and many wore them home.
Youngsters also continued writing their own Greek myths and watched some of the animated version of the film Hercules.
There was plenty of food to enjoy as pupils taste tested traditional Greek dishes.
