Concern has been raised about Tesco's plans to install a cash point in London Road in Twyford.
The supermarket, which has agreed a lease with the owners of the former Amin’s Restaurant site, has put in a series of applications to Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) to make changes to the store.
But villagers complained this week a new ATM machine will mean motorists stopping in London Road and causing tailbacks.
Others have said the ATM machine will mean cars are parked dangerously and illegally.
Twyford Parish Councillor David Hymers, said: “They won’t be stopping for long, but it will be long enough for it to be a pain in the neck.
“It already happens at the Brightons Newsagents in London Road and Tesco is going to make it much worse.”
The chain has also applied for a license to sell alcohol from 7am to 11am, and said it operates a strict 'Think 25' policy, whereby anyone who looks under 25 will be asked for proof of age.
A Tesco spokesman said there will be three to five deliveries made to the store every day and that these would be made at times selected to minimise disruption to traffic and out neighbours.
The 3,000ft Express Store is expected to open in early 2012.
