Update 12.30: All train lines between London Paddington and Reading have closed while emergency services respond to an incident, National Rail has said.
All trains between the two stations, including Maidenhead and Slough, are experiencing disruption while emergency services work.
The company said on its website: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident in the Southall area.
"Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed.
"Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised."
Passengers have been warned to expect delays, revisions and cancellations to trains servicing Maidenhead and Slough due to an investigation this morning.
National Rail said a safety inspection of track in the Twyford area was causing disruption to train services along the London Paddington to Reading line.
Elizabeth line and Great Western Railway services are both affected by the disruption which is set to last until 12pm.
Great Western Railway's website said: "We have had a report of a defect with the track in the Twyford area, on one of the two lines that trains from Reading to London Paddington use."
