An Elizabeth line train at Maidenhead Station.
Elizabeth line passengers have been warned of ‘severe delays’ on services between London Paddington and Reading due to a power outage.
National Rail (TfL) has said the outage, between Abbey Wood and Paddington, has caused cancellations and near hour-long delays expected to last until at least 7pm.
The disruption comes as late-night trains from and into London Paddington are set for disruption due to engineering works beginning tonight (Monday, May 12).
Elizabeth line and Great Western Railway services between Paddington and Reading may be retimed or delayed while the works continue.
National Rail said the works, taking place between Southall and Reading, will see some lines closed over night from Monday until Thursday.
Among the affected services is the 22.40pm Reading to London Paddington GWR train which is expected to arrive in London later than expected.
Elizabeth line services are also set to be retimed to run later than their usual times.
The 11.10pm Heathrow Express London Paddington to Heathrow Terminal 5 service will not run, as well as the 11.42pm return service.
National Rail has advised passengers to plan ahead of travelling.
