THE Oratory School’s Tara Chesters second a Welsh bronze medal in the U14 grand slalom and a Welsh silver medal in the U14 slalom at the Welsh Alpine Championships held in Champery/Les Crosets in the Portes du Soleil.
Chesters, who lives in Binfield Heath, also achieved a silver medal across all Welsh girls in all age groups in the slalom. She was then awarded the title of female Welsh champion for her performance across all categories.
Following her success last week, Sports Snow Cymru, the national body for skiing in Wales, have asked Chesters to train with them at their skiing camp in the Easter holidays.
The successful ski gene runs in the family as Tara’s older sister, Georgia, also an Oratory pupil, won a bronze Welsh medal in the slalom at last year’s championship, but has had to miss out this year to focus on her GCSEs. Both girls are looking forward to competing again next year.
