A popular German supermarket has announced an opening date for its new Slough store.
Aldi is set to open on Farnham Road next month with a celebratory ribbon cutting with a three-time Olympic rower on opening morning.
The new store will offer customers fresh, British meat products with weekly offers, its award-winning ‘Specially Selected’ range, exclusive beers, wines and spirits, and a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store.
Aldi’s 'Specialbuys' will also be available in the middle aisle every Thursday and Sunday, with a wide range of products from electrical items to garden tools.
Aldi will open its doors in Slough on Thursday, October 12 at 8am.
The store team will be joined by gold and bronze medallist, Moe Sbihi to celebrate the store opening who will be giving away complimentary bags of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s Super 6 range to the first 30 customers in the queue.
Moe Sbihi said: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of Team GB.”
Aldi is also calling on charities and food banks in Slough to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in the local community.
Charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, seven days a week.

Aldi in Slough will be run by store manager Sean Muir, along with a team of 40 colleagues.
He said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Slough. It’s set to be a special day, and having Olympic hero Moe Sbihi join us will make it a morning to remember.”

Aldi at 141 Farnham Road in Slough Trading Estate will be open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 10pm and on Sundays from 10am to 4pm.
